Folding is perhaps the key ingredient that allows
your project to take its form from flat sheets. Choose from parallel, gate,
double-gate, accordion and other folding styles. Our horsepower includes
six MBO folders of up to 30" width,
allowing us to fold panels as small as 1-7/8". Capabilities include multiple-up
formats, inline side seam and fugitive gluing, inline shrink wrapping and
more.
Gate Folding
Used for covers, promotional pieces and publications, gate folds attract
attention and add interest to any piece. A gatefold opens from each side
to the center and can also be known as a foldout. The gatefold adds dimension
to your piece.
Map Fold
Our 30” MBO folders are geared for large-format map folding
applications.
Accordion Folding Products such as brochures and direct mail pieces may benefit from an accordion
folding layout, which can negate the need for binding.
At GPPS, we can perform gluing for a variety of applications. For many
products, we can perform gluing inline with folding and other processes
to create a workflow that’s efficient for even the highest-volume
projects.
Fugitive Glue
Also known as “ez-release” glue, fugitive glues allow the
two affixed substrates to be detached by the end user. That makes it perfect
for affixing panels on a direct mailer or attaching items to a carrier
piece.
Seam Gluing
A simple, economical solution for creating envelopes for direct mail pieces,
seam gluing using coldest adhesives is also used for products such as pocket
folders and saddle stitched books.
Remoistenable Glue
Aptly named, remoistenable glue is activated when moistened by the end-user.
Common uses include mail-order blanks and envelopes of all shapes and
sizes.
Hand Gluing
Specialty products may require hand-applied gluing. At GPPS, we can perform
hand gluing using fugitive, seam or remoistenable adhesives — simply
let us know what you need!
Kleenstik
Kleenstik is a pressure-sensitive transfer tape that can be removable or
permanent. It is available in a variety of widths and adhesion styles,
as well as in dots.
